Altair to Showcase Cloud Technology for Virtual Design and Engineering
ATCx Cloud event series to focus on instant HPC for large-scale CAE
TROY, Mich., Nov. 24, 2014 – Altair today announced that the company will host a global
event series on cloud computing topics, titled ATCx Cloud: Infinite Design Exploration, beginning in the U.K. in December and continuing into 2015 in Germany, France, India, Japan, and the U.S. Customers spanning multiple industries will present their successes using Altair's cloud computer-aided engineering (CAE) and high-performance computing (HPC) solutions, including Vertu, Stanley Black & Decker, The University of Edinburgh, Hieta, and Zodiac Aerospace. In addition, presentations by Intel and Amazon Web Services (AWS) will be featured.
Altair will introduce HyperWorks Unlimited
™ - Virtual for AWS, offering unlimited access to Altair HyperWorks
® and PBS Works
™. This offering provides the ability to scale at will, accommodating peaks in demand with no performance degradation. Instantaneous access, faster speed, the convenience of the web, and a completely configured HPC environment make Altair Cloud solutions an attractive choice for CAE and HPC. The Altair platform integrates the simulation lifecycle on the cloud, enabling engineering teams to perform and collaborate on large-scale design of experiments, stochastic studies, and numerical optimization with ease.
Behind every highly-engineered product stands a design team which has thought through every scenario, weighed all options, and made calculated engineering decisions to perfect their design. Teams are often constrained by limited access, scalability and/or usability of resources, including hardware and software. This has historically restricted engineers' freedom to explore.
Cloud technologies promise scalability of resources on demand, democratizing access to HPC and other elite, physics-based CAE technologies. Delivering an experience that eliminates the complexity of integration, providing only necessary applications through the proverbial single pane of glass, is a tremendous engineering challenge. Altair's expertise in putting together the entire simulation stack, regardless of the hardware platform, helps to meet this challenge and represents the company's unique contribution to the engineering community.
“For organizations looking to equip their CAE teams with infinite exploration possibilities, this is a must-attend event series," said Ravi Kunju, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Altair. "Altair is the only company that builds both state-of-the-art CAE application software and HPC middleware to deliver an unparalleled user experience and business model. We are offering every attending organization the opportunity to experience the Altair cloud during the event with free cloud cycles.”
This event series will address the interests and needs of design engineers, CAE specialists, senior executives responsible for product development, and managers of engineering departments. The ATCx Cloud series will kick off in Gaydon, U.K., on Dec. 9, 2014, followed by a second event Feb. 26, 2015, in Frankfurt, Germany. More events are planned in the U.S., France, India, and Japan.
